Project Goals
When is a powder room not just a powder room? When it's the jewel of the home. This space started out as a basic, utilitarian powder room but was transformed into a stunning "destination" powder room after the design was implemented. We were challenged with designing a bath that combined the "vibes" of several adjacencies within a single open space. The entry, Living, Dining, & stairs all converged at this single location. The rest of the home projected a sophisticated feel, and we wanted to accomplish this same effect in this little powder.

Finishing Touches
We selected our color scheme by pulling a secondary color (blue) out of some of the accents from the Living/Dining area and used that tone to create a dramatic base for the design. We then created architectural interest by designing wainscoting for the bottom section of the walls and selecting a striking wallpaper to be placed on the upper section of the walls. The convex, marble sink with radiant gold legs stands out beautifully against our dark blue base of paint and wallpaper, as do the artistic light fixtures, and subtly shaped mirror. To complete the design, we painted the ceiling the same dark blue as the wainscoting, creating an immersive feel to the overall design.
